Who are we?

The Brickstone Companies are a family of privately owned entities formed to develop, construct, own and operate investment grade real estate assets, typically in partnership with institutional investors or tenants. Brickstone’s roots date back to 1974 when founders John Kusmiersky and Jack Baker formed US Managers Realty and commenced operations. Present ownership is comprised of nine principals, all of whom are actively engaged in every aspect of daily business operations and have been functioning together as a team since 1988. This extraordinary tenure is mirrored by employees throughout the organization.

The Brickstone Culture

Over the past three decades Brickstone has nurtured and maintained a highly entrepreneurial culture. Flexibility, creativity, and integrity are the primary tools with which Brickstone has built a national reputation for the management of very large, complex development projects. The average Brickstone development project is in excess of 725,000 square feet. Typically they are anchored by large institutional tenancies. Since 1985 the Brickstone portfolio has featured more than twenty leases in excess of 100,000 square feet.

Brickstone’s success in executing large, complex projects is predicated upon the direct involvement of the principals and the very personal relationships that have been developed over the decades with financial partners, lenders, contractors, design professionals and most particularly, tenants and build-to-suit clients.
